Default 17th September 1944

On 17th September 1944, on a daylight bombing raid on Boulogne my fathers Lancaster JO-T was the only one hit by flak and crashlanded near Samer France. 5 crew survived by leaving the plane by parachute and were lucky enough to be picked up by Canadian forces. The pilot was forced to crashland the plane and he too was uninjured. The day after the crash landing the crew were taken by the Canadian forces to view the plane. Two days later all the crew were back at Waddington.
I am hoping that there may be a Canadian who was involved in some way and may be able to give me information before I visit the site of the crash in June 2010 from Australia.
I have a photo of the Llancaster taken shortly after the crash.
